4th ANNUAL CALEDON PIT RUN

AND OPEN HOUSE

SEPTEMBER 12, 2015

This year's event held on Saturday September 12th, 2015 was a huge success! We exceeded our goal of $25,000 and raised $26,500 for Bethell Hospice in Inglewood. Both Lafarge and Aecon are committed to building and supporting a caring and healthy Caledon community and 100% of the registration fees and sponsorship donations from the event went directly to Bethell Hospice. Thank you to all the sponsors, runners, friends and volunteers who all contributed to the success of our 4th Annual Caledon Pit Run and Open House.

As with previous years, the Caledon Pit Run/Walk took place within the scenic 2nd Concession of our Caledon Pit, located southwest of Charleston Rd and Willoughby Rd in Caledon. This was a unique opportunity for visitors to experience a 5K or 1K cross-country run/walk through an active licensed site. During the event we  featured an open house with silent auction, a sponsor expo, guided bus tours, supervised kids' activities and face painting, Earth Rangers, a Photo Booth, and the very popular rock truck ride!

This year's event was run, once more, in support of Caledon's Bethell Hospice Foundation. In 2016, Bethell Hospice (originally Hospice Caledon) will celebrate its 25th year of providing community-based palliative care and compassionate support to families struggling with a life-changing illness. Bethell Hospice is only partially government funded, and the Foundation must raise almost $1,000,000 each year to keep the doors of Bethell Hospice open to serve the community. There are no fees to stay at Bethell Hospice, no fees to participate in any of the Community Support Programs, and no one is ever denied access due to financial situation.

Thank you again for everyone's support and generous donations! We hope to see you all again next year. We are already making preparations and will post the date in the next couple of months. Photos and run times will be posted as soon as we receive them.
